IPOZ Surveyor is a stand-alone inertial navigation system (INS) for land survey. It was developed as a solution for seismic surveying in areas not suitable for GPS or in environmentally sensitive areas where line-of-sight instruments require damaging tree clearance. INS-based systems are the only systems that do not rely on external measurements to compute positions and can be a cost-effective solution in challenging areas with a variety of obstructions.
